ARTIST BIO
Dionna JOI PridGeon, from the Chicago west suburbs, embarked on her dance journey post-high school. A distinguished graduate of Point Park University, she has 19 years of expertise in Dance Education/Choreography. Commencing her teaching career at the renowned Hubbard Street Dance Center and later contributing as faculty at The Lou Conte Dance Studio. Dionna received invaluable mentorship under the guidance of Claire Bataille, the muse and first dancer of Hubbard Street. Her impactful educational journey extends to 10 prestigious facilities, including The Ailey Extension, Steps on Broadway, The Joffrey Ballet School/Academy, and Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio.
Dionna has conducted Master Classes across the US, from Columbia College to Loyola Marymount University, and internationally in Montreal, Norway, and Germany. Beyond her dance career, Dionna has graced the modeling world with her presence, a part of Lily’s Talent Agency and Clear Talent Group. Her extensive training includes Rennie Harris: Illadelph Legends, Deeply Rooted, American Dance Festival, and involvement with prominent entities like Monsters of Hip Hop, The Pulse on Tour, Ballroom Dance Chicago, and Self Explore by Shaun Evaristo.
In the realm of commercial dance, Dionna's credits span Coachella Music Fest, Waterbomb LA, B96 Summer Bash, and the 3 Sleuths Las Vegas. She has performed iconic works by industry luminaries such as Brian Friedman, NappyTabs, Ian Eastwood, Luam, & Tony Testa, to name a few. Her concert dance repertoire features working with acclaimed choreographers like Lou Conte, Robert Battle, Margo Sappington, and Danny Burczeski. Dionna's choreographic works has graced renowned venues like TedX, Chicago's Orchestra Hall, and Pritzker Pavilion - Millennium Park.
As a published poet and writer, Dionna is the Founder/Creative Director of moveDIPR LLC. Recognized for her artistic contributions, she was awarded a Fiscal Sponsorship from Unique Projects by Pentacle and earned a grant from the Queens Theatre New York, as well as an Artist Residency in France. Outside of dance, Dionna holds several certifications, which include TESOL/TEFL & DEI Awareness.
